This year, AWBP Trust has embarked on a mission to conduct more on-field events across India, with Tirupati being one of the targeted locations. While we officially began activities here in 2023, organizing on-field events proved challenging until we crossed paths with our new volunteer, Mounika Bhukya. Mounika initially connected with us as a water bowl installer, demonstrating her dedication to the welfare of community animals by collecting water bowls from us for them. After several discussions, we successfully convinced her to take on the role of leading an on-field event, guided by our experience and expertise.

We carefully scheduled the event for April 7th, taking into account Mounika’s availability and comfort. Logistics were promptly sent to her location according to the plan. Mounika suggested Shilparamam Park as the venue for our inaugural event, and after liaising with the park officer, Mr. K Khader Valli, and completing necessary formalities, our request to conduct the event inside the premises was granted.

In preparation for the event, we mobilized active volunteers, including Mounika Bhukya, Lokesh, Hari, and Keerthi, and provided them with thorough training to ensure effective sensitization of the public on animal welfare issues.

On the morning of April 7th, the team assembled at Shilparamam Park around 4 pm. Under Mounika Bhukya’s leadership, all team members performed admirably. Special recognition goes to Lokesh Mogilli, G Haritheja, and Keerthi for their proactive contributions to the tasks assigned to them. It was inspiring to witness the team’s enthusiasm as they extended their efforts until 9 pm to reach out to a larger audience.

The impact assessment reveals that 21 water bowls were distributed, with a collective expenditure of 4 hours among the 4 team members who engaged with 60 people, ultimately benefiting 105 animals.

Impact Metrics:

Total bowls distributed: 26
Total hours spent: 4

AWBP Trust expresses gratitude to our event lead, Mounika Bhukya, for effectively guiding the team in adherence to AWBP guidelines. We also commend the contributions of team members Lokesh Mogilli, G Haritheja , and Keerthi for their dedication during the event.

Let’s continue working together to fulfill our responsibility towards our community animals.
