The Hyderabad Literary Festival (HLF) is an annual event organized by a trust in Hyderabad, celebrating literature, culture, and art. This three-day event attracts dignitaries, artists, professional speakers, and visitors from colleges, schools, corporates, and the general public. The 2025 edition of HLF took place on January 24th, 25th, and 26th, offering a vibrant platform for knowledge exchange and cultural enrichment.

Our Participation at HLF 2025

When we approached Mrs. Kinnera Murthy from the HLF Team regarding a stall for our NGO to showcase our initiatives—such as water bowl distribution, educational book distribution, and animal advocacy—she kindly considered our request. We were fortunate to receive a space to present our work and engage with visitors over the three days.

To ensure maximum impact, we assembled a dedicated team of nine members for the event and arranged all necessary logistics to make our stall engaging and informative for visitors interested in animal welfare and rights.

Key Achievements

During the festival, we successfully accomplished the following:

  1. Water Bowl Distribution: 62 water bowls were distributed to promote animal care and hydration throughout the year.
  2. Educational Book Distribution: 66 copies of our book, The Journey of Bunty & Chinku, were shared to inspire children and adults to understand and support animal welfare.
  3. Public Sensitization: Over 500 individuals, including students, professionals, and general visitors, were sensitized about animal welfare and rights, fostering greater awareness and compassion towards animals.

Notable Interactions and Support

  • Book Authors: Several authors visited our stall, appreciated our efforts, and took copies of our educational book, commending our commitment to the cause.
  • Educational Institutions: Students, teachers, and school management representatives expressed keen interest in our activities. They invited us to conduct guest sessions at their institutions to educate students on animal welfare, an often-overlooked subject in the academic curriculum. We also distributed book copies to school staff as part of our educational initiative.
  • Volunteer Engagement: Many visitors expressed interest in volunteering with us for future events, eager to contribute to our cause.
  • Professional Networking: Several professionals recognized our NGO’s funding challenges and offered to connect us with corporate CSR teams for potential support. This networking opportunity could significantly benefit our initiatives.
  • Distinguished Visitors: Mrs. Amita Desai (HLF Director) and Mr. Jayesh Ranjan (Principal Secretary, Department of I&C and IT, Government of Telangana, and Chair of the HLF Festival Committee) visited our stall and appreciated our efforts in promoting animal welfare.
