AWBP Trust has always been committed to creating a lasting impact in animal welfare for the betterment of both animals and the community. Since 2017, our initiatives have been focused on three core areas: Water, Education, and Invention. While our efforts have yielded positive change, we realized that sustained public participation alone was not enough to ensure long-term impact. Government collaboration is essential to establish a consistent and structured approach to animal welfare.
Citizen Fundemental Right – Article 51A(g)
This article states that it is the fundamental duty of every citizen of India “to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wildlife, and to have compassion for living creatures”.
The Need for Government Collaboration
Over the years, we have encountered challenges in maintaining long-term public engagement in our initiatives. Without systemic support, it is difficult to create lasting change. Recognizing this gap, we developed a strategic plan to collaborate with government bodies, ensuring more effective and standardized results that benefit both animals and the broader community.
Establishing a Partnership with Nizampet Municipal Corporation (NMC)
In January 2025, while conducting our on-field Water Bowl Initiative at the Bachupally Dumpyard Transfer Station, we connected with the sanitation officer working with Nizampet Municipal Corporation (NMC), Hyderabad, Telangana. We introduced our work and highlighted the challenges that community animals face. We also shared how AWBP Trust’s initiatives could provide solutions through government collaboration.

On March 15, 2025, we visited the NMC office, where our Managing Director, Lakshman Molleti, officially submitted a proposal and explained the urgent need for structured animal welfare programs. He also provided insights into our Ahimsa book “The Journey Of Bunty & Chinku” and our first innovative invention dedicated to animal welfare. The Commissioner was highly impressed with our commitment and vision, and he immediately approved the proposal, agreeing to collaborate on this meaningful initiative.
Key Activities Under the Collaboration
As part of this partnership, AWBP Trust and NMC will jointly implement the following initiatives, year-round:
- Water Bowl Initiative:
- AWBP Trust will install water bowls across government premises, including transfer stations, schools, parks, and other public spaces within the NMC region.
- NMC will allocate water tankers and staff to regularly refill and maintain these bowls year-round, ensuring clean drinking water for animals beyond just the summer months.
- Awareness & Research Work Initiative:
- AWBP Trust will be granted access to transfer stations and other municipal locations to conduct research studies that will enhance our educational materials and awareness programs.
- This collaboration will also facilitate the expansion of our innovative products designed to improve animal welfare and community involvement.
Future Expansion & Vision
We are dedicated to sustaining this collaboration with NMC throughout the year, ensuring long-term impact. Following the successful implementation of this initiative, we plan to extend similar collaborations to other regions in Telangana and subsequently engage with municipal corporations in other states. As urbanization rapidly expands, it is crucial to prioritize the protection of animals and natural habitats alongside human development.
AWBP Trust is committed to sharing its expertise and innovative solutions with government bodies, working together to build a more compassionate society for animals. We hope that more government entities will recognize the importance of our mission and leverage our knowledge to create a sustainable, animal-friendly environment.
A Special Thanks
We sincerely thank Commissioner Mr. Md. Saber Ali for their invaluable support in making this collaboration a reality. Your proactive approach to animal welfare sets an inspiring example for other government bodies to follow.
