awbp trust educational session_Oakridge International School HyderabadAs part of the Vision of AWBP Trust, we conduct education sessions both offline and online on animal welfare and rights to connect humans with animals.

School Invitation

We received an official invite from the Management team of Oakridge International School, Hyderabad, to host an education session for their 5th-grade students on animal welfare as part of their social project. Hence, AWBP Trust has chosen to conduct an awareness session on animal welfare to create awareness among the students.

School Name: Oakridge International School
Location: Hyderabad
Audience: Students from 5th Grade

Presentation Session

On 27th January, Rupa Chakraborty from the Management team of Oakridge International School chose to host the education session on behalf of the school, and their 5th-grade students, Lakshman Molleti from AWBP Trust, presented the session through an online platform.

Since the session started, the students were highly enthusiastic, curious, attentive, and listened with deep interest. The presenter from AWBP Trust did a walkthrough on different topics relevant to animal welfare. We made the discussion more interactive during the session, where students also participated in the debate during the session. As part of animal welfare, we discussed how human actions had disrupted animal habitats, shelter in the community, and the activities that need to be taken by the students for the homeless animals. During the session, the students connected to the knowledge on animal welfare.

After the end of the session, the students shared their stories with the presenter. One student shared a story about how he built a shelter for animals in the community and regularly used it to feed them. One student mentioned that he used to keep a water bowl for the birds. Another student shared how he prepared and sold cupcakes, and his mother collected the funds and donated them to the WWF animal welfare organization.

So the presenter concluded the session by asking the students to volunteer with AWBP Trust or other animal welfare organizations in India. The host of the day, Rupa Chakraborty, concluded the session by thanking the AWBP Trust team and mentioning that they will invite AWBP Trust for future sessions on animal welfare. She encouraged the students to share their feedback about the session to be communicated to the AWBP Trust.

Thankful To Oakridge International School

We are thankful to the Oakridge International School Management team for encouraging their students to participate in animal welfare rights sessions. We are grateful to Teacher Rupa Chakraborty for leading the session in an organized way for her students. We thoroughly enjoyed our interaction with students and their enthusiasm for protecting the animals in their community.

Let’s Educate

As a proverb says, “Education Is An Antidote To Ignorance,” therefore, we need to conduct more sessions on animal welfare so that our future children are well-informed and be conscious of animals and their rights.

If we do so, we’ll be able to build kind, compassionate children who will grow up to be responsible citizens of this planet who will show love for the animals, respect animals’ freedom to live, and provide a safe space for the animals. If we do this, we can build a suitable planet for all of us to thrive.
