The Animals Water Bowl Project (AWBP) Trust was honored to participate in “AI for Social Impact,” a meaningful initiative organized by Dreamstarter, a startup founded by Arun Philips. The event was designed to bring together changemakers, social entrepreneurs, NGO leaders, and innovators to understand the work being carried out by various nonprofit organizations and explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can strengthen their impact on society.

The gathering was open to individuals from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about creating positive social change. A select group of speakers representing different causes was invited to share their vision, experiences, and innovative approaches. Among them was Lakshman Molleti, Founder of Animals Water Bowl Project (AWBP) Trust, representing the field of animal welfare and compassion.

The event commenced around 2:00 PM, Venue: Draper House, Hyderabad with an engaging networking session where participants introduced themselves and shared their areas of work. The atmosphere was energetic and collaborative, bringing together NGO founders, social innovators, entrepreneurs, technology enthusiasts, and changemakers from different sectors.

To encourage interaction and creative thinking, participants were divided into smaller groups and given a random topic to present as a five-minute pitch. Every group showcased remarkable creativity and problem-solving skills, with many discussions focusing on human-centric challenges and innovative social solutions.

Around 3:00 PM, the main speaker sessions began. Each speaker presented impactful initiatives addressing different social causes, including healthcare accessibility, women empowerment, civic responsibility, and community development.

Changemakers

Among these presentations, Lakshman Molleti’s session stood out as the only presentation that emphasized both human well-being and animal welfare. His thought-provoking topic, “Why Animal Connection Matters More Than Ever in the AI Era,” offered a unique perspective that resonated deeply with the audience.

Lakshman began his presentation with a simple yet powerful message:

“At the end of the day, every living being is searching for one thing—happiness.”

He explained that while technological advancements and Artificial Intelligence continue to transform human lives, genuine happiness is gradually declining because people are becoming increasingly disconnected from nature and animals. He highlighted that throughout history, humans have shared a deep bond with animals, but modern lifestyles have weakened this connection.

He emphasized that reconnecting with animals through compassion, service (Seva), and kindness is one of the most meaningful ways to restore emotional well-being, empathy, and lasting happiness. According to him, technology should enhance humanity—not replace our compassion.

Using impactful graphical presentations, Lakshman demonstrated how small acts of kindness toward animals can positively influence human mental health, emotional balance, and community values. His presentation encouraged participants to think beyond technology and recognize the importance of compassion as an essential element of future societies.

He also introduced AWBP Trust’s educational initiative, “The Journey of Bunty & Chinku,” explaining how the book helps children and adults develop empathy for animals while promoting values such as kindness, coexistence, responsibility, and compassion. The audience appreciated how storytelling can reconnect people with animals and inspire positive behavioral change from a young age.

The presentation also highlighted the flagship initiative of the Animals Water Bowl Project, which encourages communities to provide clean drinking water to animals throughout the year. This simple yet impactful movement demonstrates how small acts of compassion can create significant social and environmental change.

The audience responded positively to Lakshman’s unique perspective and appreciated AWBP Trust’s innovative approach to combining animal welfare, education, community participation, and human happiness. Many participants expressed interest in learning more about the Trust’s activities and exploring opportunities for future collaboration.

Following the speaker sessions, participants continued networking, exchanged ideas, discussed potential collaborations, and learned from one another’s experiences. The organizers thoughtfully arranged sustainable and eco-friendly refreshments, reinforcing the event’s commitment to responsible and conscious living.

The event concluded with group photographs, meaningful conversations, and the exchange of contact details, allowing participants to stay connected and continue building a stronger ecosystem of social impact organizations.

AWBP Trust extends its heartfelt gratitude to Arun Philips, Founder of Dreamstarter, for creating such a well-organized and inspiring platform that encourages collaboration between technology and social impact. We also thank every speaker, participant, volunteer, and changemaker whose passion and dedication made the event memorable.

Events like AI for Social Impact demonstrate that while Artificial Intelligence can empower organizations with powerful tools, it is human compassion that ultimately drives meaningful and lasting change. AWBP Trust remains committed to ensuring that as society advances technologically, our connection with animals, nature, and all living beings continues to grow stronger.
