The Hyderabad Literary Festival, a charitable trust, annually organizes an event in Hyderabad, India, featuring literature and culture-related activities. Renowned speakers from around the world participate, sharing their insights with audiences of all ages. The event is open to all age groups and is free of charge. This year’s festival took place from January 26th to January 28th, 2024, at Sattva Knowledge City, Hyderabad.

Our trust managing director, Molleti Lakshman, reached out to the Hyderabad Literary Festival (HLF) director, Ms. Amita Desai, expressing his interest in being a speaker at the event. After reviewing the book, “The Journey Of Bunty & Chinku,” written by Lakshman, the festival organizers agreed to include it in two sessions: NANHA NUKKAD (In English “Small Street”) and MEET MY BOOK. We saw this as a wonderful opportunity to discuss animal welfare alongside presenting the book.

On January 26th, 2024, Lakshman participated in the NANHA NUKKAD activity, where authors select a story from their book and share it with the audience within a given time frame. Lakshman narrated the first story “It began with a water bowl” from the book using placards with 3D scenes related to the story. He later interacted with children and parents, receiving positive engagement from the young audience who connected with the story. Lakshman also presented book copies to authors Nitya and Lakshmi Shankar, as well as to children who attended the activity.

On January 27th, 2024, Lakshman took part in the MEET MY BOOK activity. He discussed how urbanization neglects nature and animals in the community and emphasized their importance in human lifestyle. Lakshman provided brief details about all the stories in the book and answered questions from the audience.

During the event, Lakshman had the opportunity to meet and interact with several speakers and readers. He met Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, an IAS Officer, presented a book copy to him, and engaged in a brief discussion about Lakshman’s invention work. The event, with its large audience, diverse speakers, and numerous activities, underscored the significance of the Hyderabad Literary Festival platform. We aim to collaborate and participate in future HLF events to raise awareness about community building.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the Hyderabad Literary Festival Team, including Festival Director Amita Desai and other team members Padma, Lakshmi Shankar, and Laasya, for their support of our work.
