Animal Water Bowl Project (AWBP) is an organisation which is in continuous pursuit of animal welfare. We have made it our motto to address the issue of animal welfare. We have recognised the importance of Education and Awareness in this journey and have made it a goal to spread awareness about the importance of Animal Welfare to a broader audience.

The ideas inculcated to children shape the future of the society. Thus, it is of great need to educate them about Animal Welfare. With this in mind, we strive to make the animal welfare lesson a mandate in schools. As part of this, we aim to make our storybook, “The Journey of Bunty and Chinku” (on AMAZON India Store), a part of the curriculum of moral science in all educational institutions by collaborating with the schools.

The first step towards this initiative proved fruitful. We have approached the officials of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) recognized by Govt. of Telangana, a social welfare/tribal welfare schools’ society for the education of SC and ST children. We believed this collaboration would be the first step to reaching other educational institutions in the long run.

The society has ~ 600 schools and colleges under its purview. To undertake a collaboration with this society, we (Lakshman Molleti & Amritha Alapati) approached and interacted with Mr. Naveen Nicholas, IAS and Secretary of TSWREIS/ T, in August 2023. We assured him of distributing 250 copies of our book to 250 schools and requested him for collaboration to conduct sessions about animal welfare. Gladly, the proposal was accepted and was taken over by the Joint Secretary, Mrs. Sharada.

In compliance with the proposal, they invited us to the Principals’ Conference on September 11, 2023. The Principals of the schools gathered at the conference, and we (Lakshman Molleti & Pradeep Gurrala) distributed the 250 copies to all the principals for their school library.

We got positive feedback from the principals after reading the book. In addition, two principals, Mrs Suvarnalatha (Adilabad School) and Mrs Aparna (Vikarabad School), took additional 30 copies for their schools’ libraries. Furthermore, the Adilabad school also implemented animal feeding on the campus.

We are delighted to see our motive being achieved through these small steps. We continue our interactions with other collectors and school representatives for organising online/offline sessions to promote animal welfare and inculcate a feeling of compassion and responsibility towards them.

We are open to receiving leads and contacts for books and sessions. We hope to receive many more positive responses in this regard. We aspire towards a world filled with compassion towards the animal community. Together, we can create a cruelty-free world and educate our children about animal welfare.

Contact us, in case if your educational institution like to collaborate with us.
