Following the success of the PAW2024 nationwide competition, AWBP Trust was thrilled to participate in an on-ground event at the Sunday Soul Sante (17th Edition) Flea Market in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. With a dedicated team of seven members, we set up a stall focused on animal welfare and rights, covering essential areas such as water bowl distribution, educational discussions, and invention-based conversations that support our mission. Held on November 10, 2024, from 10 AM to 10 PM, the event provided an engaging platform where we interacted with over 300 people of all age groups throughout the 12-hour day.

Event Setup and Activities

The stall was designed to invite interaction and offer insights into our primary initiatives. Our logistics were thoughtfully arranged to ensure an impactful experience, focusing on three key pillars:

  1. Water Bowl Distribution: Highlighting the importance of clean drinking water for animals, we provided information on how individuals could easily set up water bowls in their communities. We have distributed 25 Water bowls to the interested people.
  2. Educational and Awareness Talks: Through engaging conversations, we shared the significance of animal welfare and individual responsibility in creating a safe environment for animals.
  3. Creative and Educational Art Display: An artwork showcase and a hands-on bowl-painting activity for children provided a fun way to connect young minds to our mission.

Our main focus throughout the day remained on spreading awareness about animal welfare and rights. We also set up a water bowl filled with fresh water for community animals, reinforcing our core message about the importance of providing for the needs of these animals.

Engaging with the Community

Throughout the event, our team engaged with over 300 visitors, including families, children, animal enthusiasts, and inquisitive citizens. Many visitors stopped by to learn more about animal welfare, while others engaged in specific activities, including:

  • Bowl Painting for Kids: This was particularly popular, as children eagerly participated in painting bowls, while their parents watched. It offered a creative and interactive way for young participants to form a bond with animals and understand the importance of care and compassion.
  • Art Display: Our artwork showcase drew attention and served as a visual reminder of the beauty and significance of animal welfare.

The response from visitors was incredibly positive. Many expressed admiration for our commitment to animal welfare, commending our stand on animal rights and applauding our consistent efforts to bring about positive change.

Memorable Interactions

Some interactions left a strong impression, including one with Vishal, an entrepreneur who spent over 15 minutes discussing our activities and mission. He appreciated our transparency and patiently engaged with our team to clarify various questions on animal welfare.

Another visitor expressed curiosity about the reasons behind dog bites. Our team provided insightful explanations, emphasizing that empathy towards community animals plays a crucial role in maintaining a peaceful coexistence. We discussed the responsibilities of NGOs and the role individuals can play in urban areas, highlighting how understanding and kindness can prevent conflicts between humans and animals.

Spreading the Message

As part of our outreach, we distributed bookmarks carrying important messages about animal welfare and rights, aiming to make an impression that would last beyond the event. Some visitors also chose to support us financially, making donations to further our cause.
