AWBP Trust proudly participated in the flea market organized by SANGAM INDIA on 18th and 19th April 2026 at T-Works. Surrounded by multiple commercial vendors, AWBP Trust stood as the only non-profit organization at the venue, representing community welfare through animal welfare and rights.

Animal Welfare Is Human Welfare

Raising awareness about animal welfare and rights is not only about helping animals—it directly benefits humans and the environment. When communities care for street animals through responsible feeding, sterilization, vaccination, and coexistence, it reduces conflict, improves public hygiene, lowers fear, and creates safer neighborhoods.

Compassion towards animals also builds empathy in society. A community that respects vulnerable lives often becomes more caring toward fellow humans as well. Protecting birds, dogs, cats, and other living beings also supports ecological balance, biodiversity, and a healthier urban environment. Animal welfare is therefore deeply connected to community well-being and environmental sustainability.

A Team That Represented Compassion

Our dedicated volunteers — Rishu, Lokesh, Vidya, Vaishnavi, Akarsha, Sowmya, Rishab, Mamatha and Lakshman — delivered exceptional work throughout the event. With consistency, patience, and positive energy, they continuously interacted with visitors, answered questions, created awareness, and remained committed to the cause without losing focus. They became strong voices for animals throughout the two-day event.

Creative Activities That Inspired Action

To make awareness interactive and memorable, AWBP Trust organized several meaningful activities:

  • Natural color painting on a reusable board
  • Water bowl distribution for street animals and birds
  • Coexistence poster distribution
  • Distribution of the life lessons book The Journey of Bunty & Chinku
  • Showcase of bird nest and bird feeder models

These activities encouraged people to understand that even small actions can create life-saving impact for animals and positive change for society.

Important Public Conversations

The event also opened the door for valuable discussions around animal welfare.

One visitor argued that dogs are the reason for dirtiness on roads. Our team explained that hunger is often the root cause. When animals are ignored and left hungry, they search for food in garbage areas and tear waste covers while trying to survive. The long-term solution is responsible feeding, better waste management, sterilization, and humane coexistence.

Another visitor suggested that dogs should be kept in shelters, comparing India with Europe and the United States. Since the visitor was open to discussion, the team explained the practical realities. In many countries, unadopted dogs in shelters may be euthanized after a certain period. We highlighted that India’s principles of Ahimsa, empathy, and care support more humane and sustainable solutions such as community care, sterilization, vaccination, and awareness.

These conversations showed that misunderstandings can be transformed through respectful dialogue and factual awareness.

Positive Response from Visitors

Many visitors appreciated the initiative, expressed interest in volunteering, and invited AWBP Trust to collaborate or conduct awareness sessions at their institutions, workplaces, and communities. This reflects a growing interest among people to become part of compassionate social change.

Continuous Impact by AWBP Trust

AWBP Trust has been consistently creating awareness and practical impact through rescue support, feeding initiatives, water bowl drives, educational outreach, volunteer engagement, book sessions, and public events. The organization believes every event, every conversation, and every person reached is an opportunity to create a kinder society.

By connecting animal welfare with human values and environmental responsibility, AWBP Trust continues building a movement where compassion becomes action.

Impact Created at the Event
Gratitude to the Organizers

AWBP Trust sincerely thanks SANGAM INDIA for providing a meaningful platform to represent animals and spread awareness in a vibrant public setting. Events like these prove that when compassion meets action, communities grow stronger, kinder, and more responsible.
